Built by people who were doing it in a spreadsheet

TournaPilot is made in Kansas City by ChooseASquare.com LLC.

Every tournament runs on somebody’s Friday night. A spreadsheet with four tabs, a group text with forty-one coaches in it, and one person who knows how the whole thing fits together and cannot go to bed until it does.

The software that exists for this mostly stores what you already worked out. You still decide the format from memory, still move games around by hand until nobody plays twice in a row, and still find out at three in the afternoon that the bracket will not finish before dark.

So TournaPilot does the working out. It sizes a format against the hours you actually have. It builds a schedule that respects every field, every rest rule and the time you have to be off the complex. It tells you which constraint stopped a game from fitting instead of saying “scheduling failed”. And it publishes the whole thing so the forty-one coaches can look it up themselves.

It is the second product from ChooseASquare, which runs fundraising pools for the same kinds of organisations — same company, same people, a separate system on purpose.

If you run tournaments and something here is wrong, we would rather hear it now than after the first weekend. Tell us, or join the beta.

Running a tournament this season?

TournaPilot is in private beta. Directors on the list get it early, and the ones who come in first shape what gets built next.
